Every fall we host the annual Pumpkin Carve for our Adult Life Group at Calvary. And every year it is a blast, usually involving lots of friends, tons of food, and pumpkins designed to outdo the year before! But it is not just the pumpkins that get better, Jeff spends months trying to come up with ideas to make the event more, better, crazier, FUNNER!
Elijah gets a head-start on preparing the back yard:)
Soon guests arrive and it is time to chat...
play a little football...
take care of sweet Lyla...
Well, maybe some more than others. Elijah's theme for the night was to get away with eating as much as he could without getting caught...and that included (uncooked) pumpkin seeds.
This year's addition to the lineup of games was an old-fashioned cake walk. Since a full cake would have been a bit much for the kids, we did cupcakes for the winners instead.
As the carvers finished up their masterpieces, the younger kids gathered on the blankets for popcorn and A Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown on the projector.
Finally, the pumpkins started to make their way over to the display and ultimately the grand finale, complete with fireworks!
