Celebrating Gifts

I think my New Year's Resolution ought to be "Keep up with blogging"!

In a very broad December overview our theme (appropriately so) is: CELEBRATING GIFTS

We celebrated the gift of family while decorating our tree together.

We celebrated the gift of music at Bella's Christmas concert at school.

As it turned out, Calla was the Emcee.

We celebrated the gift of whimsy with our new elf Doodle and his cute Christmas antics.  This particular morning, he made little donut snowmen for the kids for breakfast.

On another morning, silly Doodle left the kids some edible advice!

We celebrated the gift of education.  I was honored to watch all three of my school-age children receive awards in December!  Noah for being a terrific reader, Calla for being a Terrific Kid, and Bella for Perfect Attendance.

We celebrated the gift of community at the annual Christmas parade hosted by our sweet small town.

I think the little boys enjoyed the candy most of all, Micah played the part of a fish being "hooked" and Elijah showing off the remnants of his sweet treat:)

We celebrated the gift of friendship at the girls annual Christmas Tea.

The girls had such a beautiful time of sharing and laughing and just being little girls.

After tea, each girl made a "Psalm 23" bracelet.

We celebrated the gift of playfulness.  A trip to the Concord Mills Mall was a fun escape from the long list of "to-do before Christmas" waiting for us at home!  We window shopped, played a little, dressed-up a bit, browsed, snacked, and walked, and walked...and walked!

We celebrated the gift of creativity at the Gingerbread competition.  This year it was fierce, maybe the best yet.  And we all had our favorites.

Some were sweeter than others:)

And finally we celebrated the MOST important gift, the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!  I think that put a smile on everyone's face.
