Sunburn in March?!?!

As I celebrate another birthday, I reflect on the past year and on the wonderful blessings God has given me and our family. But this year, He gave me quite a surprise on my birthday...a sunburn! Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining, just shocked. Every year since I was a child, the first day of Spring came in cold and usually overcast. I can even remember a few birthdays with snow still on the ground. As a kid I longed for a pool party or at least a birthday outdoors, but *sigh* it was not to be. But this year was special. Saturday dawned clear and sunny and quickly turned warm with temps reaching the high 70s. I had a great birthday spent with Jeff and the kids and my parents. Steve brought over his lawn plugger and aerated the yard in between taking the kids for tractor rides. Mom walked up to the park with the kids, while Nemi and I caught up on some shopping. Back at home, Jeff seeded and fertilized the front yard before we all met up for a great lunch of seafood and fried chicken. When we finally did drag the kids back inside and gave them all baths, we found an unusual sight. They too were sunburned...in March. That is crazy and wonderful all at the same time. Kinda like my life!

A quick game of HORSE while Grandpa plugs the yard.

Everyone gets a ride on the tractor!

Happy Birthday to me...Cha Cha Cha

Looks to good to resist!

Nemi had a great day too!!

Birthday Season

Birthday season is upon us at the Davis household. Surprisingly, with seven birthdays and one anniversary, not one overlaps in the same month. The closest thing we have, is Bella's birthday in late February and mine in March and Noah's in early April. Once you throw Easter in the mix, things get a bit crazy. So this year, instead of a big party for Bella, we had a simple dinner and cupcakes with the family. Then the next week Mom and I took Bella and Micah and Nehemiah to an indoor waterpark to swim. Happy 4th Birthday Bella! Everyone enjoying Bella's present, the Littlest Pet Shop Mansion. The waterpark we went to was having a special if you wore tie-dye, since we didn't have any we made a day of tie-dying. To bad it was so cold outside I might have enjoyed it more. Then again, maybe not!
Bella loves to swim and has been talking about going to the pool for months now so this should have been the perfect gift. In theory! As it turned out, Bella and Micah turned shy at the pool and refused to go near the slides. So instead we spent an hour just relaxing in the kiddie pool and splashing in the fountains. While it wasn't exactly the way I pictured it, Bella had a great time and can't wait to go back to the pool (just as long as there are no slides)!Ray's Splash PlanetThe dreaded slides!

One happy birthday girl!
