3rd Annual Pumpkin Carve

This Saturday we hosted our third annual pumpkin carving party with our Sunday School class. With a turnout of over forty people, it was definitely the biggest one yet and in our family the motto is "the more the merrier". After dinner and a few animated games of pumpkin bowling, we headed back to carve pumpkins and bob for apples (individually of course, it is flu season!). As it is every year, the parents seem to get into the carving much more than the kids. There is always a friendly competition going for most creative pumpkin and this year was no exception. We had a lot of talented adults and kids alike that made some amazing jack-o-lanterns. But don't take my word for it, judge for yourself.

Precious Nehemiah

As I sit here holding my baby boy and gazing at his sweet face, it occurs to me that I have not posted many pictures since his birth. He is such a wonderful baby, so tolerant of his brothers and sisters and their constant need to hold him and kiss him and love on him. And aside for a bit of fussiness in the evening, he really is quite perfect. He is changing so much everyday, getting longer, stronger and even chubbier. So here are a few of our favorite pictures from the last three weeks.

What a Difference a Month Makes!

About a month ago we headed up into the Carolina mountains to pick apples at our favorite orchard. While we enjoyed the experience, the heat was all but overwhelming as was my very large belly. This time we drove up the winding mountain road to be greeted not by the sweltering heat, but instead by crisp fall air. And instead of carrying Nehemiah in my belly I carried him in a sling on my belly. And lastly, instead of trees loaded with apples, we had to search them out a bit in the far corners of the apple orchard (even employing the stray ladder left in the field). But all in all, it was a wonderful day and we came home with a bounty of apples to share and enjoy. One or two even made it into the first apple pie of the season. Since it is Jeff's favorite fall dessert and we have a bushel of apples, I doubt it is the last!!ReadySetGo!!!Nehemiah's first appleHappy after a great harvest!

Who's that Baby??

Every time we have a new addition to our family, I love to go back and look at all the kids baby pictures and compare. It never ceases to amaze me that they can all look so similar and yet so very different, especially those first few months. Anyway, I thought it would be fun to post all of the pictures here and see if you could guess who is who. I tried to put them all in black and white to make a bit more difficult, but there are still some clues in each photo as to which baby is which.
