Giving Thanks and Cutting Down Trees

We had a lovely Thanksgiving break which went a little something like this:

EAT, FOOTBALL, SHOP, SLEEP, SHOP, FOOTBALL, EAT, ROAD TRIP, SLEEP

In all seriousness, we spent a wonderful holiday with family and friends, eating a bountiful feast, hiking the mountains for the perfect tree and spending lots and lots of time playing and watching football!

Ahh, my delicate rose:)

We have arrived at the tree farm.

Ginger greeted us at the cabin with fresh baked sweet rolls, YUM!
The kids quickly found something to do.
The views, as always, were spectacular.
On to a friendly game of tag football.
The little ones decided to do some exploring together.
And some goofing off together.
Next we loaded onto the hayride to find a tree.
Finally a picture with Elijah and he is awake.
The fun-loving Walford bunch.
One dozen smiles!
Calla picked out the tree this year and boy did she do a terrific job!
Daddy cut it down, so Paul Bunyan-like.
TIMBER!
The Walfords tree was just a bit bigger, like 5 feet or so.

On our way home we stopped for pizza, you can't even imagine the stares, whispers, pointing, etc. that greeted us. What, you've never seen 16 people eat pizza before:)

I'm thinking Nehemiah is loving his odds.

Decorating, my favorite part. Lots of little helpers made the time fly.

A beautiful tree for a beautiful family.

Truly, your last line summed it up! A beautiful family, indeed! So much to be thankful for! Great post & wonderful pictures! Love the one of the dozen smiles!
Oh, is that the Pizza Hut in Shelby? We stopped there on the way home from apple picking with a couple other families & received similar stares!
