Family Reunion/Cookout/Birthday Party

While a cookout, birthday party and family reunion may sound like a week (or two's) worth of events, in true Davis fashion we just combined them into one day! Calla turned 9 at the end of June, halfway to graduation Jeff tells me:( And this happened to be the same weekend most of my aunts and uncles and a few cousins were traveling to Myrtle Beach for vacation as well. Normally, we would drive down to the beach and enjoy our family time there, however with a two-week-old we decided that the sun scorched beach and the tourist-packed ocean may be a bit much for a little baby to handle. Thus, everyone was invited to join us for Calla's birthday party and cookout on the way down to the beach. Calla looked through several birthday cake ideas before deciding on these super-cute s'mores ones.Calla and Bella had a ball putting the little Teddy Grahams in and arranging the (pretzel) sticks with the marshmallows over the hot (chocolate chip) coals! My cousin Melissa's twins Taylor and Trenton loved playing with Micah who is just 2 weeks their senior.Everyone else found fun things to do as well, Nehemiah hung out with my aunts and Calla and Bella colored for a long time with my sweet cousin Teresa. Finally it was time for the birthday girl to blow out the candles and enjoy some cake and ice cream sundaes. Nehemiah's favorite was the cake:)Micah's was the ice cream:) Everyone elses was the snow cones!!
It was a wonderful renunion and we look forward to seeing everyone again next year.
