A Good Lesson in an Unlikely Place

I guess this week I really haven't found a whole lot of blogworthy things to write about. The weather certainly has been drastic even in the last 24 hours, but is that really news? The kids have been a bit more obnoxious than usual due to the indoor confinement. So far the highlight of our week was dressing up extra special for church and a trip to Lowe's. I will say that when we got home today and the freezing rain was steadily coming down, we looked out at the playset (that is still a work in progress no thanks to this weather) and two birds were perched on the fort. We have a ton of birds in our backyard and I never thought of where they would go when it rains and rains and rains and there are no leaves to offer any protection. But God did, and he led the birds to not only a birdhouse, but a bird mansion. We enjoyed watching the birds taking refuge in the fort and realized that no matter what our circumstance or how bad things may seem, God is always there watching over us as well. "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?" Matthew 6:25-27 (NIV)
