The Lost Weekend

Back in mid-December there was a weekend that we had so much to do, I never even got to blog about it. Chalk it up to a busy December, but I wanted to hit the highlights. It started with an exciting trip to the circus. Jeff's company rented out the Cabbarus County Arena and brought in the Royal Hanneford Circus as their Holiday Gala this year. The kids have never been to a circus, so this was a real treat. Everyone from youngest to oldest was mesmerized. Never has all of our children sat so quietly for so long:)
There are two women in that box!Jugglers on horsebackLoved the show! Just a few days later was Calla's Annual Christmas Tea. She was so excited to invite all of her neighborhood friends over for a fancy holiday tea party. We had a great turnout, even more showed up than we had invites, but that is just the sign of a great party (and a generous hostess!). All of the girls looked lovely in their beautiful dresses and fancy shoes. They all got pictures in front of the Christmas tree and then sat down at the table to learn a bit of etiquette, drink holiday flavored teas and sample cookies and candies. Once the tea had been drank and the entire table full of goodies devoured, we moved into the kitchen for a craft. Calla loved entertaining her friends and helping to create a beautiful Christmas tradition. I think she has the makings of a marvelous hostess. Girls working hard on their ornament craft. Finally, while Jeff and Micah did some last-minute Christmas shopping, I took the kids to Noah's Art for a creative playdate. They had so much fun doing different projects and playing with their friends. Bella especially enjoyed the painting (it is the one craft we do not do a lot of in our house). She was so excited to use paint that she did several masterpieces, even managing to include herself in one.
